People with disabilities who have Self Managed or Client Directed funding and organisations that provide support to people with disabilities are able to broker the following services from Interchange Illawarra. Our volunteers and our casual support workers, respite cottages & training room. Funding can be used to purchase a range of support options that meet the needs of the individual, their family and carers

Located at 81 Kenny Street, Wollongong, our room is regularly used for events and workshops.
Our training room is comfortable, well ventilated and opens out onto a secure, grassed area. It also features:

Respite Cottages
Interchange Illawarra has a comfortable 3 bedroom house, located at 14 Evans Street Wollongong as well as a modern 3 bedroom villa at 153 Pur Pur Avenue, Lake Illawarra. Both are available to respite and other community care services on a brokerage basis
Our respite cottages have a number of disability friendly features including:
Wheelchair access
Home away from home (e.g. full kitchen facilities, fully furnished)
2 bathrooms – 1 with walk in shower
Accessible undercover outdoor entertaining area (fully equipped BBQ area etc)
Electronic security system
The cottage allows parent/carers and their families to take a short break from their caring role with the respite cottage providing overnight or short stays.
Guests of the respite cottages enjoy the benefit of a short stay in a comfortable ‘home away from home’ environment, while their care needs and support are provided by our qualified and experienced staff.
